Alba is one of the major towns in the area. Known as the home of truffles, wine and other specialities, it was founded by ancient settlers from Liguria.
Also beautiful is Barolo, the town that embodies the spirit of the most noble Piedmont wine: Barolo. Nestled among the hills, the town that once belonged to the Gonzagas and the Savoys is dominated by the Falletti castle

The rolling hills of the Langhe are among the world's most famous production areas for prestigious and award-winning wines including Barolo and Barbaresco.
